Mary Poppins

I bought two parrot head handle umbrellas yesterday, one for me and one as a gift for the nanny next door. I've been dancing around the apartment with my new umbrella for much of the day, but deep down I know that only ONE BLOGGER could ever truly BE Mary Poppins. She's certainly brave enough to tap dance upside-down (fast forward to around 5:50!), and the final confirmation came towards the end of the show when Mary Poppins flew over the audience in a long purple velvet coat.

I was in the audience, crying. It was just so beautiful.

Mary Poppins is revered in this house. Revered. I am often called upon to sing Just a spoonful of sugar and am quite partial to bursting into 'Let's go fly a kite' at any opportunity.

Bliss.

Just finished watching the video from the Broadway show...WOW!!!

How amazing was that???

I can imagine the tears quite easily, based on watching only a few minutes.

I took my Girl Scout troop to see Mary Poppins in Chicago, and yes, I bought a parrot-headed umbrella. Of course!

And everyone's covetous.

The nice thing is that you'll never leave it behind. Who could forget her Mary Poppins umbrella???

I love that video. The silhouettes, the dashes of red, the TAP DANCING! Aren't you glad to know that tap dancing is still alive and well? It is such a cool form of making music and moving at the same time.

Did everyone hold their breath when Bert walked over the rooftops?
